Kudos to the MAHA Music Festival organizers for creating another great event that brings Omaha closer to the reality of being Midwest Music Central. Their efforts have added at least $10,000 in sales tax revenue to local governments as the result of food, beverage, ticket and hotel room purchases. That’s pretty good for a single day event. With an entire year ahead to plan you should be able to get a commitment from at least ONE really good draw. The lineup and price were not very attractive to me, and I will pay to see bands I really wanna see. I heard that Flaming lips was on the table, as well as others that would've drawn a serious crowd- from out of state even. That's the kind of attraction you need for real success.We are in a music town. There are so many resources, and people with good connections around... we get better shows at the Slowdown for a reasonable price, and they come around all the time. That's something you have to compete with (or ideally, work with if you can forge that relationship). Additionally- your price point wasn't that bad for a "festival", but I think of something like Pitchfork, and I would pay for the gas on TOP of the cheap ticket to see that many great bands in another state. I just wanted to bug you real quick and let you know that we really enjoyed being part of the MAHA Festival this past weekend. We all felt you did a knock-out job of organizing the entire thing. There were only a few small issues and what impressed me was the ability of you guys to address those issues on-the-fly and make things work. Also, whoever you hired as stage-hands were also really great and we appreciated that you made them available to the local acts and not just the national acts. We hope the festival continues to grow and that we can be part of it next year as well. Thanks again!

I thought the line up was fantastic... great blend of music which will help draw in numbers.... there is obvious room to grow but for a first year festival, it was GREAT! I suggest not doing any bands a second time.... and although I totally GET the G Love concept and have seen him multiple times, I felt his unrelenting discussion about weed was too much for all the types of people there and I thought it was silly. Maybe because I have grown up .... anyway .... just for other concert goers maybe put G Love in a back room with some lava lights and velvet curtains and you can go back there to listen to him.... do his thing.... We visited Omaha last weekend and decided to go to the MAHA Music Festival along the Missouri River in downtown Omaha. What a grand experience. The festival was well organized, the bands outdid themselves, the weather was superb and the staff and volunteers couldn’t have been more accommodating. The audience had a great time.
